Fall Parade – Details and Parking

The Fall Parade – a favorite day among the kids – begins at 2:00 pm. The map outlines the parade route and where families may stand to watch.

REMINDER: Please do not park on Dorlan Mill Road, in the bus lanes or in the fire lane. Overflow parking will be available at Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center. (The parking entrance is to the left of Shamona’s entrance; please do not pull in through the bus access driveway.)

Classroom activities will be held immediately following the parade. If you are scheduled to come in for the classroom activities, we ask that you do the following, to alleviate the log jam of parents entering the main lobby:

  • Parents of students in grades 2 and 4 should watch the parade from the parking lot near the gym. You may follow the end of the parade in through the recess doors.
  • Parents of students in grades K, 1, 3 and 5 should watch the parade toward the front of the school. You may enter the building through the lobby after the parade is complete.

Because today is designed for classic fun, post Halloween costume pictures of your kids to the Shamona Creek Sharks – Parent Community on Facebook.

Have a spooktacular Halloween!

Volunteer Opportunity: Mobile Agricultural Education Science Lab Week

One of the ways the Shamona Creek Home & School Association uses parent donations is to provide assemblies for your children. During the week of November 10-14, your child will visit the Mobile Ag Lab, a science lab housed in an RV!  It will be parked outside of Shamona Creek and all classes will have an opportunity to participate in a hands-on science project.

We need at least one more volunteer to help! Please use the Sign-Up-Genius link to volunteer. Make sure your disclosure form is in the office or you will not be able to volunteer (the form can also be found on the SC homepage in the Backpack section).
We are grateful for all the parents who have signed up already, and thank you in advance to anyone else who is considering donating their time to help make this a success!
We will keep you posted in the weeks ahead about what the kids will experience.

Helping is E-Z: Shop at Target. Save the World.

Target Take Charge

Okay, well shopping at your favorite big box store to save the ‘whole world’ might be a bit of an exaggeration, but using your Target Red Card can make a true impact for our little corner of the universe.

Target LogoParticipate in Target’s Take Charge of Education Program and 1% of purchases made with your Target Red Card will be donated to our school. Simply designate Shamona Creek as your recipient school online to start earning.

And, if you are anything like me, you always checkout of Target with WAY more than you intended to buy. So, now you can feel good about over-shopping, knowing that the more you spend, the more it benefits the school.
